Rose Petal & Cardamom Heart-Opening Herbal Jam

A cooling, aromatic, Pitta-soothing jam that nurtures emotional balance, heart energy, and mental clarity. This herbal jam is inspired by classical Hridya (heart-opening) formulations used in Ayurveda to soothe Pitta, uplift the mind, cool emotional heat, support circulation, and nourish the sadhaka pitta governing emotional intelligence, love, compassion, and inner harmony.

🔥 Method of Preparation

  • Rinse the fresh rose petals gently under cool water.
Pat dry and remove any white bitter bases if desired.

  • In a small saucepan, add ½ cup water and bring to a gentle simmer.

  • Add the rose petals and cook on low heat for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
The petals will soften and release their fragrance.

  • Add fennel, cardamom, cinnamon, and optional clove.
Stir gently to infuse their subtle aromatics.

  • Turn heat to the lowest setting and add raw honey.
(Do not boil honey — this destroys its prana.)

  • Stir continuously for 3–4 minutes until mixture thickens into a soft jam-like consistency.

  • Add rose water and optional ghee, stirring to blend.

  • Turn off heat and allow the jam to cool completely.
The flavor deepens as it rests.

  • Store in a clean glass jar.
    Keeps for 1–2 weeks refrigerated.

  • Serve ½–1 teaspoon daily as an herbal tonic, or spread on warm roti or toast for an emotional-balancing treat.
